CORE FOUR

It's the 21st Century... It's time to start teaching like it.

ABOUT US

Our program is for students, by students.

Here at Core Four, we love what we do and we want you to love wherever life takes you- so why not start learning material that's going to inspire you, change you, and give you that 21st Century edge?

Core Four strives to make this class experience unlike any you've ever had before, one you will surely find yourself getting the most of out.

Divvied up over four years of high school- Grades 9-12 - the curriculum centers itself on the introduction and acclimation to the exploration and practical use of 21st Century thinking skills: Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Communication. Each year would dedicate itself to one of the pillars, with the other focal points being intertwined as well. Activities and exercises would be targeted for both the classroom as a whole and individualized. Students get real exposure to hands on activities throughout their involvement in the class, ranging from the human knot to giving a Ted Talk on a topic of their choice.

So what makes us the untraditional class we claim to be? Not only is it the subject material, but the way we structure the class. We focus more on growth and future development than we do grades meaning no formal finals and no GPA stresses. These are skills we want the students to take with them and use for the rest of their lives How does cramming information, only to be forgotten in several months, help students learn about life? Core Four establishes a series of reflective statements and creating a portfolio to give to colleges and workplaces to demonstrate the continuity we strive to promote.

WHO WE ARE

We are students. We are teachers. We are artists, debaters, musicians, athletes, scientists, poets, mathematicians, thinkers, doers, explorers and innovators.  We are Core Four.

SPACES

Cultivating 21st century thinkers takes a space that is open and as adaptable as the times themselves. Whether it be an empty classroom or an old computer lab, reinventing your space will help these students thrive. Enjoy some samples of spaces below.

CORE FOUR: Hear Us

We have something to say.

When asked if the education these students and teachers are providing/recieving is helping them prepare for the 21st century working world, they had some interesting answers...
